9 Days Adventure Kenya family wildlife safari

To start your Kenya family safari your driver will pick you up from the hotel at 0930 am to start your Nairobi excursions. Enjoy an excursion to the Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where baby elephants delight guests as they feed and play. You will have the opportunity to adopt a baby elephant at the center and will be sent email updates about its survival and progress. You will also have a chance to visit the Giraffe Center, a breeding sanctuary for the endangered Rothschild giraffe. Finish your day with a delicious dinner at Talisman Restaurant.

Our Kenya family safari tour will start at 0730hrs – A safari briefing session with our Tour officer then drive to Amboseli National park at the foot of the snow- capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain. Lunch at the camp. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Kibo Safari camp.

Your Kenya family holiday will spend the morning and afternoon doing game drives. Amboseli is home to big herds of Zebras, Gazelles, Buffalos along with Lions and Cheetahs. A great variety of water birds can be observed in and around the marshes. However, its main attraction is the great population of Elephants. Approximately 1,500 of these fascinating creatures live in the ecosystem and visit Amboseli regularly. It is fantastic to watch them walk to and from the swamps in the mornings and evenings. During times of plenty, Elephants concentrate sometimes in hundreds, with old bulls following the herds of females and calves.

Photographically is very rewarding. Its flat and dusty plains and dry lake beds provide amazing backdrops for dramatic and evocative images, especially in certain remote areas of the park. In the early mornings and late afternoons the snowy peak of Mt Kilimanjaro may emerge from the clouds, and when a herd of Elephants appear in the distance it is one of the most iconic scenes in the entire African continent.

Your Family safari in Kenya will continue after breakfast. Travel to Lake Naivasha with a brief stop at the Great Rift Valley view point to take photos. Visit Hells gate National Park in the afternoon to photograph the beautiful landscapes /wildlife as you walk within the park. Walk freely among the wildebeest, giraffe, impala and zebra. Keep your distance though, and of course do not to chase for obvious reasons as wild animals can hurt you if provoked. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort.

Optional morning boat ride at Lake Naivasha to see numerous species of birds – drive to Masai Mara to arrive in good time for lunch at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge .Afternoon game drives at the vast Masai Mara plains with an opportunity of taking beautiful shots of the sunset .Dinner and overnight stay at Masai Mara Sopa Lodge. Early morning game drives then return to the camp for breakfast – spend the rest of the morning at leisure. Lunch then talk a two-hour nature walk with the Masai guide who is conversant flora and fauna, wildlife, trees and their traditional medicinal value, the Masai peoples traditions he will also teach the children some bush survival tips like knowing how to behave in the presence of wild animals.

Finally visit the visit the Masai manyattas where a local Masai guide will give you an intriguing account of the Masai people and their traditions that have stood the test of time and still prevail on the plains , the family too have a chance of participating in the local Masai traditional dance. Return to Masai Mara Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

The Masai Mara Game Reserve is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve. Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara.

A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach Masai Mara grazing fields from late June. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to August. The reserve abounds with birdlife since dose to about 452 species have been recorded.
