10 Days Kenya & Tanzania Via Lake Victorial 4×4 safari

Day 1 – Arrival – Nairobi
Pick up from the airport on arrival and transfer you to the Nairobi Serena hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 – Nairobi – Masai Mara
Pick up from your hotel at 0730 hrs and drive via the scenic Great Rift Valley, to the Mara Reserve arriving in good time for lunch. Afternoon game drive is taken. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge

Day 3/4: Maasai Mara
Full day spent exploring the park in search of the Big 5. Optional hot air Balloon safari can be arranged at an extra cost of US$ 450 per person. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge
The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve. Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara River to reach Maasai Mara grazing fields from late June. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from early July to August. The reserve abounds with birdlife since dose to about 452 species have been recorded. Hot air balloon safaris are readily available in this park

Day 5 – Masai Mara- Musoma ( lukuba Island)
Early morning departure to Tanzania via Isebania boarder musoma via sirari boarder point transfer to Tembo Beach hotel where you board your boat to Lukuba Island afternoon spent relaxing ,fishing, hiking on the sunset rocks. Dinner and overnight stay at Lukuba Island lodge

Situated on Lukuba Island,13 kilometers off the shore of Lake Victoria in the Musoma District. The lodge is ideally situated in the eastern part of Lake Victoria and is an easy destination just seventy five kilometers from the western Serengeti gate at Ndabaka. It can also be incorporated as a stop over when arriving from the Masai Mara into Tanzania.

Day 6 – Lukuba -Serengeti National Park
Boat transfer to the shore of Lake Victoria where you link up with your guide and proceed to Serengeti national park via Ndabaka gate lunch at Serengeti Serena lodge then proceed for evening game drives.

Day 7 : Serengeti National Park
Departing in the morning, you drive west game viewing through the western corridor of the Serengeti to the Central region of Seronera.Dinner and overnight Serengeti serena lodge

Serengeti is easily Tanzania’s most famous national park, and it’s also the largest, at 14,763 square kilometres of protected area that borders Kenya’s Masai Mara Game ParkIt is the Migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back. The Wildebeest travel through a variety of parks, reserves and protected areas and through a variety of habitat. Day 8 : Serengeti :Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge
Morning game drives then return to the lodge for breakfast proceed e south to the magnificent Ngorongoro crater via the historical Olduvai Gorge whilst game watching only interrupted by a picnic lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge Lodge.The Olduvai Gorge cuts through rock beds layered in time sequence from 2 million years ago to the present. It is here where humanoid bones have been found dating back to over 1.75 million years including a direct ancestor of modern man. Fossil footprints (over three million years old) have also been found here and are the most ancient footprints yet discovered. There is an excellent site museum where you can explore the diggings

Day 9 – Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Descend into the crater for a full day crater tour with packed lunches.- Ascend for dinner and overnight stay at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge
The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s biggest whole volcanic caldera at 8300 sq km and is arguably the most stunning arena. It is frequently described as one of the wonders of the world, not only because of its geological magnificence, but also because it serves as an extraordinary natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s largest populations of large mammals. Ngorongoro and other freestanding mountains are volcanic in origin, formed during the fracturing process that created the Rift valley 15 to 20 million years ago. When it peaked in size 3 million years ago it was a similar height to Mt. Kilimanjaro today

Day 10 : Ngorongoro – Departure
Breakfast at Leisure then proceed to Arusha – lunch then private transfer to Nairobi by road or drop off at the airport to board your flight to Nairobi arriving in good connecting time with your home bound flight . End of a memorable Kenya/Tanzania safari.
